October 2003: Yayhoos gigs in USA

Dan has got some dates pencilled in for The Yayhoos, coming December in the USA. Check his site regularly. Mary McBride has had the pleasure of having Dan on guitar during her latest tour. Read her tour diary, it's funny.

October 2003: Live videos added

German TV show Rockpalast recently broadcasted the Köln gig as recorded on 28 August. My good friend Remco made some wmv's out of it. Check the Downloads page.

May 2003: New CD - Out Of Mothballs

Out Of Mothballs is the "new" Dan Baird cd release available NOW on Jerkin' Crocus (UK) records. So why the "new", well, the material was all recorded between '90 - '93, for one reason or another it's seeing the light of day on commercial release for the first time. The cd contains 11 studio tracks, two are by the Georgia Satellites line up circa Salvation And Sin, with the other 9 being evenly split between the Love Songs and Buffalo Nickel sessions. One cover, Willie Dixon's Seventh Son, the rest are all either Baird originals or Terry Anderson/Baird tunes.

June 2003: The Georgia Satellites' 'almost reunion' is not going to happen

In spite of the earlier message about the coming 'almost reunion' tour, it's unfortunately not going to happen - well, at least not now. Dan has written this explanation. There will be a tour of Dan & Friends (Keith Christopher, Mauro Magellan, Ken McMahan) which is also going to be more than worthwile!

May 2003: The Georgia Satellites 'almost reunion'

We can't call it a official reunion, but it almost is: Coming August and September, there will be a European tour by Dan Baird, Rick Richards, Mauro Magellan, Keith Christopher and Joey Huffman. That's the Georgia Satellites with their original bass player (Christopher) and a keyboard player (Huffman). I think this is very exciting news.
I have heard that the guys theirselves are pretty excited about it, too. Details will follow as soon as possible.

April 2003: New Dan Baird-produced album

Countryrootsrock from Boston? Yes, indeed. Cash Monies & The Jetsetter has a new Album out: "Thinkin' Out Loud". It's produced by and with Dan Baird and available via Blue Buffalo (Europe) or Pigpile Records. Pigpile has some mp3s from the album. To me it sounds like Beatfarmers meet Georgia Satellites. So therefore, check it out!

April 2003: Dan touring Europe with The Dusters

Dan Baird is currently touring Europe with The Dusters. Frontman Ken McMahan obviously has asked his buddy Dan Baird to return the favour of playing guitar in his band. Last year, Ken was one of the "Friends" in the "Dan Baird & Friends" tour. Check out The Dusters' site for dates and venues.

February 2003: Keith & The Satellites reunion concert

"A time capsule to 1982". That's how Dan describes the Keith & The Satellites reunion concert at The Earl in Atlanta on 21 and 22 February. This version of the Sats (Dan Baird, Rick Richards, Keith Christopher and David Michaelson) have certainly rocked Atlanta. Although it's a one time thing, who knows what will come of it. Dan has written this personal note about it.
